When you envision the perfect barbecue what comes to mind? Imagine you’re surrounded by your closest friends, enjoying a simple burger, dog or ribs. Smoke with hints of charred meat blows in the wind. You can hear the low buzz of your guests enjoying themselves. And the cool drink in your hand never seems to go empty. For me, a perfect barbecue is all about the food. You can buy the best cuts of meat and cook them to perfection. But, if you don’t season the meat properly, it will be as bland as a silent motion picture. Any pit master will agree, the dry (or wet) rub is the foundation of your barbecue. In the following post I will give my favorite homemade dry rub recipes. Feel free to tweak them to your palate, preference, and taste. Enjoy your barbecue!
